On Sunday afternoon, James and Ethan decided making ice cream was an absolute must-do with all that snow and ice around. Being that they wanted to eat it that day, the traditional custard style was out of the question- no time for heating and cooling. With as many kitchen tools as we have, alas, there is no blast chiller in our house. So they headed to Southbury Foods to get cream and 1/2 and 1/2. I got a call about half an hour later, they went without a wallet. So this process took a REALLY long time, and the ice cream was more like a milk shake. But at least it tasted good.

The southerners here make snow cream all the time. They are really happy when it snows! It looks yummy!
