Getting Ready
Another Baseball Game
Last Saturday we went to another baseball game. This time the Bridgeport Bluefish. The game was LONG and the Bluefish did not do very well at all, so we ended up leaving before the fireworks. It was 8:30 with no end in sight. But there was a moon in sight- the one everyone took pictures of. So I took one too.

Farm Party
Ethan has quite the social calendar this weekend. Two birthday parties, a baseball game, and a wedding. Tonight it was his friend Teresa's party at a farm in Cheshire. He and the other kids had a fantastic time feeding and petting animals, running through the fields, climbing hay bales, and eating cake and pizza. It was a great way to start summer vacation!
Last Day of Kindergarten!
Odds and Ends

Thursday we had a lot of errands to run. One of them was heading to Rich's Farm to get gift certificates for teachers. While we were there, we had to take advantage of the June specials. After all, you can't get Purple Cow any other month. We also went to the library, the dry cleaner (not so boring- lollipops for all) and the first farmer's market of he season. Ethan was happy to find his friend with the guitar. We also found a basket of delicious strawberries (we got the last one!) and a container of snow peas, the first of the season. We even got donuts from Averill Farm to have for breakfast this morning.
Carnival Night

Wednesday the carnival that was supposed to be Tuesday, and supposed to be the Tuesday before, finally happened. The weather around here is not good on Tuesdays. It was at Quassy and Ethan's whole school was invited. It was a fun time, and Ethan wanted to ride the new big wooden roller coaster. He was tall enough, so I said ok. You know I never turn down a roller coaster. He looked pretty terrified through most of the ride, but when it was over he said "I was a little scared, but that was awesome!" We had a fun time. I told Ethan how when I was a kid and we went to amusement parks I always went on the roller coaster with Pa because Grandma Jo Ann wouldn't go on them. He couldn't understand why not!
Last Nature Class
Tuesday we had our last class at the Webb Mt. discovery zone. We listened to a story about Johnny Appleseed and then made a picture of a tree on sandpaper. Ethan also added a treasure map to his drawing. He then directed the class through the walk in the woods according to his map. We went to a friends house from class to play for a while then left for home in the pouring rain.

Happy Father's Day
Ethan had lots of presents for James this year. He made him things at school and at Miss Paula's. He and I worked on a painted rock door stop that is supposed to be a hedgehog. James guessed raccoon. Oops. Ethan also helped make James a new "brag book" with updated photos, and chose a mouse pad to make for James from the photo site. He designed it himself. Happy father's day to Ugly and Gramps. Thanks for always being there and always making me laugh.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Farm
After Ethan's soccer game we were allowed to go where we had promised to be on Saturday, to help Gramps with his lumber. Of course by the time we got there most of the work was done. We did manage to get a walk in and pick and dig some flowers before we had to start making dinner for the hungry folks who had been working since early morning. Ethan had fun visiting with everyone. On Sunday Amber came over and we went for a walk. Ethan took some pictures (yes, they were meant to be upside down) and we picked some wild strawberries. We found a huge mass of tadpoles when we went for a ride in the ranger with Gramps. We came back to the house and played some games and had lunch before heading home.
