Museum!

Ethan and I went to the timexpo museum last Thursday. He wanted to go to a museum, it was 2:30 in the afternoon so we had to go somewhere close. We had never been there and he had a great time. We went through it once and he said he wanted to do it again. We saw indiglo watches and some that "take a licking and keep on ticking" in a tank of water strapped to a boat motor.

Sandcastle class

Ethan had such fun that he wanted to go to the ladybug store again for a second class. We made a graham cracker sandcastle. The stuff made it soggy though and it didn't taste very good. But it looked awesome.

Stew Leonard's

Ethan  has been asking to go to Stew's all summer. We finally went last Thursday. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The poor sheep's pen was filthy, the water for the ducks was not moving, the fountains weren't on, it was basically looking like they need to do some major repairs. We went inside and got a chocolate ice cream that was so lousy Ethan didn't want to finish it either. Then, much to our dismay, they were in the process of moving around all of the singing characters so many of them weren't functioning in their new homes yet. We saw the Chiquita banana, Twinkie the Kid, and just a few others.

More Blueberries and the Park

As promised, here are some more pics of the blueberry farm and the park. You can see that we were not alone in our outing. The cousins had a great time!

Picking Berries

Last Tuesday we went blueberry picking! I'm thinking Ethan ate more than he picked. More of those pics later, I goofed and didn't download the camera at the same time. We had a great picnic and fun at the park, and decided to go have froyo for lunch dessert!

Air Guitar

I don't think Joe Walsh himself could top this.

Ice Cream Man

Anticipation...

As we were about to do the final dinner prep steps, we heard something. I thought it was on the street behind ours, then I opened the front door. It was not- it was our street. So Ethan and James raced to get their shoes on and ran up the driveway to find the ice cream man! Wouldn't it figure that they finally discover our street less than two weeks before the move. Ethan chose a fudge pop. You can tell he enjoyed it.

Mini Golf

Since we are wasting all of our summer weekends packing, we are trying to do a few fun things with Ethan too. Yesterday we took him to see Despicable Me 2. He wanted to see it, but non-stop whined for at least half an hour that he wanted to leave. He did that last time we went to a movie as well, so it may be a while before he gets to go again. Today we went mini golfing. It was a fun time even though there were lots of people there and we had to wait to get on to the next hole a few times. Ethan did great, I think he had two holes in one. At the end they have a hole if you get it in you can spin a wheel for a prize. Ethan got it and he won a lollipop.

Sidewalk Chalk- Arrrrgh!

When we got home from work on Friday, we did a little drawing. We made an enormous pirate ship in the driveway. Ethan drew the crows nest and the jolly roger. He also made the awesome treasure chest, and he instructed me to make a pirate falling from the plank into shark infested waters. Then it rained, and all our work was ruined. We decided on a few improvements and will try again soon.

Zoo

Ethan and I went to the Beardsley on Thursday to meet up with his pal we met during last year's swimming lessons. They had quite a fun time. They started with an elephant ride. After we looked at all of the animals, we had lunch by the carousel.  After lunch and a few rides around, we checked out the rainforest building. Then we came back for the puppet show. It was a fun time!
