Pinewood Derby

This has been a Cub Scout heavy month. Today was the pine wood derby. Ethan wanted a red camo truck. I helped him figure out how to tape it off with small bits of painters tape, and he painted it. It turned out not to be exactly aerodynamic. He didn't end up in the final race, but it was fun to watch his friends.

Chocolate Cake!!

We hope everyone celebrated National Chocolate Cake Day! Ours was delicious :)

Night at the Museum

Ethan's Cub Scout pack had a sleep over at the science museum in Boston. He had a great time. I (not being a big fan of science museums, or kids awake past 8pm, was pretty frazzled by morning. The bright security light shining in my face all night didn't help. The bright side was that we did get to see Jeannie, Kurt and Elise before the program.

Knots

Ethan's Cub Scout den came over to learn how to tie knots. James made them boards to practice their different knots on. I did knot learn how to do it. My knot tying is all done with a crochet hook :)

Dance Party

When it's January in Connecticut, you have to make your own fun, so we had a dance party.

Celebration

We celebrated birthdays with Gavin and Max. It was a bit of a challenge to get a photo of the three of them without anyone in motion! "Cousin Ethan" even read to them!
