Day Trip

Today we went to see Granny and Gramps at the farm. After we got there, we had a snack. Most of us had bagels but Ethan got to try one of Granny's molasses cookies. Well, and a yogurt and some of my bagel. After his nap he woke up to find that Granny made us all a nice dinner and his Uncle Tom and Amber and Jonathan were there. He had a great time playing with them and pulling Uncle Tom's beard. Ethan saw a turkey eating in the lawn and she was back a few times. He blew bubbles with Amber and Jonathan and we all went in the Ranger to pick flowers for Granny (Amber drove) and along the way we saw another turkey and a rabbit. On the way home he saw at least 3 deer (we saw more but I'm not sure he was looking) and a rainbow. Ethan even got to bring home a few of those cookies and some rolls (he's already eaten a roll but having had cookies AND ice cream today he did not get another cookie). It was a nice day even though the weather wasn't great.

In case you can tell from the picture, I should explain that Ethan had another first last night- the first time he gave someone (ME) a black eye. We were reading on our bed and he decided it was time for "Everbody tickle me!" when he starts by tickling himself, at which point he threw his head back and smacked his skull right into my face. It's quite purple right now and doesn't feel so great. Ethan didn't get hurt at all from the incident, but it hurt a lot and I couldn't say anything for a minute which freaked him out. He even let me use boo boo bunny :)

It sure looks like a good time was had by all at the farm again. Thanks for sharing your day with pictures. All of the kids are growing so fast. What a treat with some of Granny's home made molasses cookies too. Wish we could all be there for your gatherings but will be there for one later in the summer.

love to all
