Halloween Fun

We've been enjoying the Halloween weekend. Yesterday James went with Ethan on a field trip to the Lutheran Home and he got an entire pumpkin bucket full of candy.  There were also some little bottles of bubble stuff (which turned out not to be a great idea for the candy) and pencils. I hear they also had punch and cookies.  Then Ethan and I made some spooky English muffin pizzas with pumpkin faces for dinner while James went to the UConn game.  We had popcorn for dessert while we watched The Great Pumpkin.

Today we had to go retrieve the camera from Jason (though it still isn't working right) and since he works pretty close to Lyman Orchards we went back there to get more apples and some donuts. Ethan wanted to make an apple pie for dessert tomorrow.  Of course  once we bought ten pounds of apples, he decided he wanted skeleton cupcakes.  So we made the cupcakes.  We'll do pie another day.  When we got back to Southbury Ethan and I went to Borders for their Halloween Spooktacular.  They played a few games, listened to a book, made some crafts, and paraded around the store.  After that we had lunch which was Candy Corn (pizza dough w/ three different colors of cheese so when you cut it, it looked like Candy Corn).

For dinner we had spider web soup, mini yummy mummies, and salty bones.  Ethan previewed the skeleton cupcakes before his bath.
