Good Day

Ethan had a really special treat today. He had a visit from his Grandma and Pa. They live in NC, so he doesn't get this pleasure as often as he'd like. You can see he had a great time with them. We played at home for a while and had lunch, followed by a nap for Ethan (and Pa). Then we headed towards the berry farm, and stopped for ice cream along the way. It was good. Ethan had his usual itsy bitsy baby cone of soft twist. I had fresh peach, Dad had black raspberry, Ma had chocolate. We made it to the berry farm, and Ethan rode on my back. He helped me pick the berries and put them in the bucket. We were the slowest pickers, but he was a good helper except for the ones he squished. He didn't eat them except when we got to the raspberry patch, then he was anxious to sample. I hear I have raspberries all over my back. When we got back, there was a piggy bank near the register that said if you ate too many, contribute there. They give the money to the food bank, so we threw in $1 to cover Ethan's raspberry binge. On the way home, we stopped at the new Woodbury diner for dinner. It was good but they were a little slow with the check. It's new, and they are apparently working out the kinks. We got back and Grandma and Pa left for their return trip to NY where Granny and Gramps live. Ethan asked for them until he went to bed, and even after. He seemed to go to sleep, but he woke up an hour later yelling "Mommy" and "Gramma." I think he's finally back asleep. Knock on wood... In not Ethan news- we got another grant at work, this one from the Institute for Museum and Library Services. HOORAY!!!! Makes all that grant writing work worth the effort.
