Big Trip

Ethan spent the last week in the South land. It was a little warm. James had a conference in Asheville, NC, so we spent Fri-Wed there. My parents (aka Grandma and Pa) came over on Sat. and stayed until Tues. morning. We explored the town, ate at a few good BBQ places, found some chocolate and ice cream, and had a good time. Mon. night, James and I went on a tour of the Biltmore and ate on the garden terrace while Ethan stayed with his Grandma and Pa. They had fun getting him to sleep, but by the time we got back he was. Ethan and I went on a bus tour of the property and spent some time lounging by the pool on Tues. Ethan waited patiently by the window for James to finish his meetings. When he did, we went on a rooftop tour of the Biltmore. That's where the three of us are in that picture on the top in the middle. Then we drove on to Asheboro to stay with Mom and Dad for a few more nights.

While in Asheboro, we took Ethan to the NC zoo. He had a great time watching people but wasn't very interested in animals. It was a really hot day and they weren't very active. We got some more bbq in the center of the state.

On Friday, we started our trip home. We stopped for a brief visit with some college friends in Arlington and met their little girl, you can see she and Ethan were making friends. Mostly he tried to chew on her fingers and tried to use her more stable legs to pull himself up. We went out to dinner Friday night, and spent time in Georgetown on Sat. before heading home. We will have to make a trip back to the area as we did not get to spend too much time with them, and we didn't get to see a few other people in the area.

Ethan was a little trooper. He was in a different spot every night but he was a good baby and did not put up a fuss in public. He did not eat baby food very well, but hopefully now that we're at home he will get back in the swing of things. Thanks to everyone we visited with for a fun time.
