Zoo Day!

 

We went to the zoo on our last day in NC. It was the warmest day, and its proximity meant we would not be in the car for too long. It was also one of the few things open on New Year's Day. We had some close encounters.

 That polar bear, you can see his paw prints in the top left picture. I might have freaked out a bit had he done that while we were inside. It was pretty amazing how close we were to him. We also did a little climbing and saw the elephants and gorillas. After the zoo, we had to go out for lunch. We found out there was a hot dog restaurant that Pa had never been to, so we headed to Mike's Chicago Hot Dogs. It was so good that Pa finished his first and ordered another.

When we got home, Pa took Ethan fishing by the pond. They didn't catch anything, it was a little cold for the fish to bite. We had a great visit.
