We went to check out Old Salem, and I can't say that we were terribly impressed. It was freezing out too, so that didn't really make the experience fantastic. However, many of the buildings were closed though they charged us full price, including the restaurants, which meant we couldn't eat lunch until 2pm because of the wait. We're used to Sturbridge where there are all kinds of activities and interpreters actually doing stuff in all of the buildings. We did, however, make a very long trek uphill to the giant coffee pot- that was our favorite part because Ethan and I decided to beat everyone else to it. We thought we were going to walk forever, and finally we saw it. This was something built by a tinsmith in the 1800s to go outside his shop. We visited a few more buildings in the village before heading out. Of course our plan for an early dinner was not an option given our late lunch, so we entertained ourselves by driving around a while and visiting a local chocolate factory. We bought some yummy chocolate and some of the best hot chocolate I've had.
We found one more Roadside America Attraction- this giant bull that lives outside a steakhouse.
Finally it got dark, and we could head to the light show! It was fantastic, took nearly an hour to drive through. It was four miles long. The best part was the soldier shooting cannonballs at the earth proclaiming "Peace on Earth." When we finished, we headed to another BBQ joint for dinner. It was really good.

By the time we got done walking around in the cold, it would have been nice if the coffee pot had been operational! Maybe a Keurig in the tall grass somewhere!!! Just a thought...............
