We spent the day driving south! We hit a little traffic south of the beltway, but were pleased that the new express lanes were open. And we found out later that that was the trial weekend and we weren't even charged for using them, though I would think it was worth whatever they would have charged us. We arrived for a turkey dinner Ma had made us, and opened all kinds of presents.
