Ethan and I took one more trip to the farm this weekend. Granny and Gramps are heading out early this year, so we probably won't be back until spring. It was rainy when we got there but it cleared out by late in the day and we went to see the schoolhouse down the road where Gramps started his education. There are a few people (including him) who are working on keeping it standing and trying to restore it. They got it listed on the state and national registers so that's a good start. They found the original desks in the attic and my great great uncle's initials are carved in one of them w/ the year. We also had a chance to see Amber, Jonathan and Uncle Tom for a little while before they had to go, and you can see that Ethan joined in when they started wrestling on the floor. I was almost as happy about that as the dried worm uncle Tom found him to play with. Ethan also enjoyed singing "rock a baby" while sitting in Granny's rocking chair. We came home this morning and had a nice sunny ride.

Ethan, it is so wonderful that you get to visit your family in New York and spend it with your great-grandparents before they escape the cold weather! Makes me jealous! ;0). Your cousins must adore you, they seem to in the pictures the way they look at you.
Looks like you all had a good weekend. I'm glad you got to see the old schoolhouse. It really is a picture of the past ages and has been kept well. Looks like the leaves are really falling now. Glad you got to spend some time together and were able to get to the farm again. Thanks for the pics to let us spend your day with you through them. Sooooo do appreciate them. Love to all.
A day at the farm is always a good time. It is nice that you got to see the old school house. Things were so much simpler in those days. Ethan, your Great Grampa, who got his education in that small school, is a good example that with a good education, lots of determination and hard work you can do anything you want to do. He and your Great Grandma are two people we can sure be proud of in what they have accomplished in their lifetimes. It is because of them that we can still go to the farm and enjoy a calm and peaceful time in the beautiful countryside.
