For our last morning, we went for a walk in Barbara's neighborhood and then went out to breakfast. We went to the airport around 11 for a 2:30 boarding time, it was about an hour from their house. We got there to learn the flight was delayed leaving JFK and we didn't actually board until almost 4. We ended up in a holding pattern due to thunderstorms in Westchester, and by the time we landed and got to the car we were almost two hours later than planned so then we had to stop for dinner. Finally got home about 9:45 to find a roaring fire. The fireplace had turned itself on, it was 98 degrees in the living room. No idea why, but they had replaced a part in it earlier in the year. We unplugged the starter so it won't happen again, but will have to do some further investigation. The remote was on top of the mantle so it's not like it fell on something and turned on. I'm just glad it wasn't on for days.
