I don't recommend George Waldo State Park unless you bring a trash bag and a grabber. We thought we'd have a quiet experience in nature. Quite the opposite. We got there about the same time a group of 15-20 people with mountain bikes were taking off in various directions. We waited for them to go and then started walking. There was no quiet. They were followed up by a group of 7-8 people digging in a pile of dirt. After that we managed to mostly not get run over by bikes as we wandered through but we certainly never found a peaceful spot. And yes, the kid's foot wound up in the water. At least it wasn't the rest of him.
