Parsley

For the past week or so, we've been watching caterpillars eating our parsley.  They looked familiar, and so I looked them up online.  I think they are monarch caterpillars.  They sure are taking longer than the Eric Carle caterpillar, but they are very hungry.  Fortunately we had parsley in two or three places, and they favor one in particular.  We aren't too concerned about removing them because it's fun to watch them, esp. for Ethan, and we're hoping one of these days to find a cocoon. Today there were five in varying sizes.

Tuesday we started working on teacher presents.  It was finally cool, and it involved baking clay.  We got one of them mostly done, and all the parts for the other.  Hopefully the picture doesn't give too much away, but we wanted to give Ethan's teachers pictures of him making them so they would know he did it.

Today Ethan and James had a lot of playtime- they went to the park together, our usual park which rarely has people in it was apparently packed, and Ethan invited some little boy he'd never met before to come for a sleep over.  They also worked on building a tractor (it was a potty prize) and played some baseball.  Some squirt guns also made an appearance.  Unfortunately the camera did not.
