On Saturday we went to MA for a birthday party for our friends Jeannie and Kurt's daughter Elise. She turns four this Wed. It was a fun time at a farm that raises rare breeds so we saw pigs and goats and chickens and ducks. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Ethan really had a great time. We had a tour of the farm and saw all of the animals, then we ate cupcakes, and then we went outside for a little scavenger hunt in the pile of hay where the kids found trinkets and candy. Ethan may not remember that because of course I immediately put the candy in the cupboard. He is almost done with his Easter candy so you see it's slow going... But don't think we deprive him of treats. Yesterday we decided to take a chance on Rich's Farm which is ordinarily a nightmare on weekends. Remarkably there was a pretty short line and a spot in the shade for us to sit. Ethan wanted chocolate, but then he was lured in by James's "green" which had chocolate chips in it- he wanted the chocolate chips. He ate most of his cone too though. Tomorrow we're back to the usual grind of grocery shopping and maybe a trip to the library if it's too hot to be in the house.
