Fake Thanksgiving

Yesterday was a busy day for Ethan. We had our annual thanksgiving dinner with friends. There were 10 adults and 2 kids for dinner with two more adults arriving later for leftovers. Ethan had an especially good time because his friend Elise was able to join us. They played in his tower and with all his toys. He also played with all of his "uncles" and all the ladies. He is really fascinated by Uncle Paulie and had a great time poking him. He didn't eat much turkey, but he did enjoy some pie and ice cream. Before everyone arrived he was a great help, assisting with mashing up the sweet potatoes, cracking eggs for various things (he doesn't make as much of a mess with that as you might think) and "swisking" up the slurry to thicken the gravy. He took a nice nap just in time for us to do all the last minute tasks then was awake in time for dinner.

Unfortunately he didn't sleep late despite our much abbreviated rest, so we had our usual wake up call around 7. It's a nice day (well, sunny but certainly not warm) so James took him outside to rake a while. Mostly he put rocks in my watering can and tried to eat tree leaves. Now he's downstairs to "play legos" with his Daddy.

How nice to see you again Elise. yOu are growing taller it looks like the two of you had a grand reunion. So glad you all can get together, nothing like seeing old friends. I know it's a lot of work, but it is well worth it. Thanks for sharing your day...

It is always so nice to read about your activities Ethan, and about all your friends! You lead an interesting life for such a young man! How wonderful for you that mom and dad enjoy so many people and have you help them with all the festivities! Your friend Elsie seems to be enjoying the tower, did you playact a fairy tale? Maybe those will come in the next few years, that will be fun too.
